Strategic Information System Technical Integration Resources (SISTIR) |
Provided software development, database administration
and design support for a large client-server system for the FDA.
Software development included coding, testing, unit testing and
integration of complex Oracle form. We also supported an on-line system
that captured information on import entries, and alerted inspectors to
potential problem areas concerning products, shippers, manufactures,
etc. We recommended actions to be taken and tracked FDA regulatory
inspections and compliance activities.
Database administration support for the Investigative Operations, Firms
and Workload Sub-systems included:
- Writing technical specifications
- Assigning duties to other developers
- Creating/altering new database objects such as tables, triggers, views,
indexes and constraints
- Creating and maintaining backend conversion package/procedure/functions
- Implementing database objects during production releases
- Generating data diagrams from designer tools
- Maintaining production database based on help desk calls
Support included:
- Gathering requirements
- Developing design specifications from the requirements
- Coding and unit testing the modules
- Tuning the performance of critical modules
